雄大なるテネシーリバー。
ガンターズビル、ケンタッキー、チカマウガ、ウィーラーなど、数々の名勝負の舞台となったこれらの湖は全てこのテネシー川をせき止めたダム湖になります。
この川が沿って流れるアパラチア山脈は面白い形をしていて、何と山の上が平らなフラットになっているのです。
（日本の山は、頂上が峰状に尖っていますよね？）
だから山の上の平地に街が出来ていたりして、パッと地図を見た時にどちらが高地でどちらが低地7日分からなかったりします…。
おそらく川が広大な平野を長年削り続けて出来たのでしょうが、そんな地形を見ているだけでも飽きませんね。。。

The majestic Tennessee River.
Guntersville, Kentucky, Chickamauga, Wheeler, and many others, all of these lakes, which have been the scene of many famous games, are all dammed lakes that have been dammed by this Tennessee River.
The Appalachian Mountains that this river runs along have an interesting shape, and to my surprise, the tops of the mountains are flat and flat.
(Japanese mountains have peaked tops, right?).
So there are towns built on the flats on top of the mountains, and when you look at a map, it is sometimes difficult to tell which is highland and which is lowland….
I never get tired of just looking at these landforms, which were probably created by rivers carving out vast plains over the years.
