来季からBassmasterエリートシリーズが、何とエントリーフィー無料に！
年間4万5千ドル(約700万円)の参加費が、完全にゼロになるという画期的な方針が発表されました。

Hey guys, I’m Ken-D.
B.A.S.S. has announced that the Elite Series will no longer require entry fees.
This means that Elite Pros will no longer have to pay $45,000/year to fish the Elite!

しかも優勝賞金こそ$10万(約1500万円)で変わらないものの、11～18位の賞金はむしろ増えるとの事。
これはB.A.S.S.としても長年の悲願だったそうですが、LIVE視聴数の爆発的な増加によりついに実現したのだそうです。
まさに夢のような話ですが、運営側は将来的な継続性についても自信を見せています。

Though the winnings are the same $10K as before, prizes for 11th-18th place will be rather increased.
They said this was the long-time desire for B.A.S.S., and the record-breaking viewership of Bassmaster LIVE has realized that.
And they are confident about keeping their new payout structure.

思えばエントリー無料化はバスプロツアーの目玉でしたが、人気不振で継続が困難に。
それが逆にライバルであるエリートで実現したというのは、皮肉と言えば皮肉です。
ともあれプロスポーツとして進化し続けるアメリカのトーナメントシーン、来季はさらに盛り上がる事うけあいです！

Though the no-entry-fee tour was the main concept of the Bass Pro Tour, it is ironic that the rival Elite has realized that.
Anyway, I’m so excited about this revolutionary improvement of the bass tournament!
