サムレイバンへの道中、路上のブロックにトレーラーのタイヤが衝突！
視界の悪い雨の夜で、車は避けられたのですが後ろが間に合いませんでした・・・。
アクスル(軸)が曲がったらしく、前側タイヤはトーイン・ポジキャン状態。

On the way to Sam Rayburn, a trailer tire hit a block on the road!
It was a rainy night with poor visibility.The car avoided it, but the trailer didn’t.
The axle seems bent, and the front tire has toe-in and positive camber. 

何とか行けるかと走り出したのですが、グリスが漏れ出してハブが発熱。
さすがにヤバイとタイヤを外し、ラチェットベルトでリーフスプリングを固定。
どうにか3輪で動けるものの、週末でトレーラー屋は休み。速やかな修理は絶望的。

I tried to drive, but the inside grease leaked and the hub got hot.
I took off the tire and fixed the leaf spring with a ratchet strap.
I could move on three wheels, but trailer shops were closed for the weekend.

このままテキサスまで1000km以上はリスクが大きい。
もし事故を起こして全損になったら、無茶を後悔するのは間違いない。
一般道を徐行してゆっくり戻り、まず修理するのが常識的な対応でしょう。

Driving over 600miles to Texas like this is too risky.
If I cause an accident, I will definitely regret it.
Returning to repair it first should be the common-sense choice. 

しかしプリプラ期間は今週限りで、戻れば練習機会は本番前の公式プラしかない。
今季OPENは賞金が獲れなければ次の試合に出られないわけで、たった3日で広大なレイバンを攻略できるのか？
初戦を落とす事になれば、あの時無理してでも・・と後悔するのも避けられないでしょう。

However, pre-practice is only this week.
If I go back, I will only have the official 3-day practice in the vast Rayburn.
And if I don’t win prize money this year, I can’t fish the next event.
If I lose the first event, I will regret not pushing through.

迷いに迷った結果、私は”まずは戻って修理する”方を選びました。
大人の選択だったな、と自分でも思います。
しかしそれで後悔が残らないかと言えば、それは別問題。
イケイケの若者と差が付くのは、こういう部分かもしれないとも思う。

After much hesitation, I chose to go back and repair it.
I think it was a conservative choice, but whether I will regret it is another matter.
This might be where I differ from aggressive young guys.

人生は、正解の無い選択の積み重ねで出来ている。
どれを選んでも、それで良かったかどうかは結果論でしか分からない。
だから後悔しないための唯一の方法は、試合で好成績を残す以外に無い。

Life is a collection of choices with no right answers.
I believe the only way not to regret is to get a good result in the tournament.
