ステンレス角パイプでのトランサムセイバー修理、試してみたフォロワーさんから”穴が開けられない”とヘルプが。
ステンは熱で硬くなってしまうので、ドリルを高速回転させるとアウトなのです・・・。
コツは削りカスが出るのを見ながらゆっくり回す事で、以下にポイントをまとめます。

Regarding the transom saver repair with stainless steel square tubing, making the holes is the hardest part.
If you drill it quickly, it becomes harder due to the heat, so slow drilling is the key.
Here are the tips below.

・開始位置にセンターポンチで凹みを作る
・硬いコバルトドリルを使う
・太さは3/16″位から初める
・切削油を使う
・強く押し付けてゆっくり回す

*Make a dent with a center punch
*Use a hard cobalt drill bit
*Start about a 3/16″ bit
*Use cutting oil
*Push the drill hard and rotate it slowly
