こちらも日本帰国時の重要任務、各種リールのオーバーホール。
近年は実用的な中華リールが増えてきましたが、問題はパーツ供給・・・。
安いリールを使い捨てにするよりも、ヘビーユーザーならシマノを10年使った方が割安な気もします。

Another important mission when I’m back in Japan: overhauling all my reels.
Lately there are plenty of affordable Chinese reels, but parts supply can be an issue…
For heavy users, it might actually be cheaper in the long run to use a Shimano reel for 10 years instead of treating cheap reels as disposable.

もちろんダイワでも良いのですが、シマノは全パーツを個人売りしてくれるのが美点。
リールってベアリングとギヤさえ替えればほぼ新品になりますし、DIYすればコストも浮きます。
手に馴染んだリールを使い続けるのって、キャスト精度を上げるのにも貢献する気がしますね。

Of course, Daiwa is great too—but what I really like about Shimano is that they sell all parts directly to individuals.
With reels, just swapping out the bearings and gears basically makes them feel brand new, and doing it yourself saves money too.
Plus, sticking with a reel your hand already knows can even help improve casting accuracy, I think.
