日本でロッドガイドと言えばSiCですが、アメリカではむしろアルコナイトが一般的のようです。
摩擦係数など各種スペックはSiCが上ですが、使い込んでみて思うのは・・・アルコナイトで「必要十分」。
PEラインで削れるなんて噂もありましたが、私のは全く問題ありませんでした。
メリットは何と言っても安い事で、　何と3倍くらい値段が違います。
（こちらではロッド一本仕上げるのに、SiCだとガイド代だけで1万円オーバー！）
予算が限られているなら、ブランクにお金を掛けた方がはるかに高性能なロッドが作れる気がします。。。
（もちろん、価格を気にしないならチタンSiCの方が良いですが）

In Japan, Fuji SiC is the most popular rod guide.
But in the U.S., alconite seems to be more common.
Although SiC has higher specs, I think that Arconite is “sufficient” for my needs.
There were rumors that Arconite is carved by using braided line, but I had no problem at all with mine.
The advantage of Alconite is that it is cheap, about 3 times cheaper than SiC.
If you have a limited budget, I think you can make a much better rod if you spend more money on the better rod blank.
