アメリカBASSトーナメント参戦を目指すアマチュアバサー、KenD(けんでぃ)の奮戦記をお送りします。。。

持てる限りの手荷物と、片道切符だけを握って海を渡ったあの日。

あれからちょうど1年が経ち、アメリカでの2度目のクリスマスが近づいています。

渡米直後に大寒波が来て、マイナス20℃の中アパートが停電。
暖炉でamazonの段ボールを燃やして、何とか寒さをしのいだこともありました。

注文した商品が頻繁に中で壊れてたり、予約していたインターネットの工事がいつまでも来なかったり。

中古で買った洗濯機が使えなくて、電気屋のおじさんに教えてもらって自分で配線直したこともありましたね・・・。

そういえば最初に子供たちを行かせた学校が合わなくて、実は引っ越しも一度したんですよね。

思えばトーナメントに駆けずり回る以前に、どうにかこうにかアメリカ生活をサバイバルしてきた一年でした（苦笑）。

妻の大いなる努力と、現地の方々の暖かい助け無くしては、決して乗り越えて来られなかったでしょう。
この異国の地での生活を、何とか形にしてこられたことに深く感謝したいと思います。

[One year has passed since that day]
Exactly one year has passed since the day when we crossed the ocean with only our carry-on luggage and one-way tickets.
And our second Christmas in the United States is approaching.
Just after we arrived in the U.S., a big cold front hit, and the power went out in our apartment in minus 5℉.
We even managed to keep out the cold by burning cardboard boxes from amazon in the fireplace.
The products we bought on amazon were often broken,and the internet work guy hasn’t come to the promised date,and I even had to rewire a washing machine I bought secondhand because it didn’t work….
The first school we sent our kids to didn’t fit, and we had to move once.
Looking back, it has been a year of somehow surviving life in the U.S. before running around the tournaments.
Without the great efforts of my wife and the warm help of the local people, I would never have made it through.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude that we have managed to shape our lives in this foreign land.
