ついにガーミンから満を持して、360°ソナーがリリースされました。
すでに実践投入しているプロも見られる、今一番注目の振動子ですが・・・。
クラシックで実機の解説を受けて来ましたので、注意点を簡単にまとめてみます。

Garmin’s long-awaited 360° sonar was finally released.
It’s the hottest transducer on the water, with pros already putting it to work.
After getting a deep dive on the tech at the Classic, here’s a quick breakdown of what you need to know.

1.ライブではない
まず第一にこれは旧来の静止画360ソナーです。
ライブスコープのパースペクティブが全周に広がったような、ライブソナーではありません。

1.Not Live
First of all, this is a traditional 360° still-image sonar. It’s not a live sonar like a 360° version of LiveScope Perspective mode.

2.スパイポールの併用が必須
このGT360UHD振動子($1000)は、Spy Pole($2000)と組み合わせないと動きません。
スパイポールとは独立して回転するポールで、自分でフットリモコンで操作も出来ます。

2.Spy Pole Required
The GT360UHD transducer ($1000) must be paired with the Spy Pole ($2000) to function.
The Spy Pole rotates independently and can be operated via foot remote, allowing you to control the rotation manually.

3.スパイポールはフォース用
スパイポールにはライブスコープも取り付けられますので、いわば公式ローテーターです。
ただし標準のブラケットはガーミンのエレキ(フォース)用なので、他社エレキに付ける場合は加工が必要そうです。

3.For Force Trolling Motors
Since you can also mount LiveScope, the Spy Pole is essentially a rotator.
Note: the standard bracket is designed for Garmin Force, so mounting it on other brands will likely require some custom modification.

4.故障率は低そう
これまでの360は先端のポット内で振動子が回っていたため、中で動かなくなってしまうのが故障の主因でした。
しかし今回の設計ではスパイポールが回転部分となるため、故障率は下がるのではないかと期待されます。

4.High Durability
Previous 360 models failed when internal parts stopped rotating.
Since the Spy Pole handles the rotation externally, the GT360UHD transducer should be much more reliable with a lower failure rate.

結論として、スポットロックして使うには有用な製品だと感じました。
逆に言えば、高速で流す最近のライブシューティングにはパースペクティブの方が向く気がします。
ただBassmasterではライブ振動子は1個までなので、ルールの関係で導入する選手は多そうです。

In conclusion, this setup is good for fishing while Spot-Locked.
For fast-paced live-scoping, Perspective mode is likely better.
However, with the Bassmaster rule limiting to one live transducer, many pros may opt for this transducer.
