上手くドッグウォークさせるコツ

先週おすすめフロッグを紹介しましたが、「上手くドッグウォークさせられない」というご相談が。
確かにPE直結で、カバーを絡めて使うフロッグは動かしにくいルアーだと思います。
特にワッカーやスリザークは水噛みが強いので、中でも難易度が高い方でしょう。

Actually, I think frog action is difficult because we use it with braided lines and around heavy cover.
Especially Whacker and SlitherK grip the water hard, so it’s not easy to control.

まず一番大切なコツは「ラインメンディング」で、ルアーからティップまでラインを一直線に落とします。
横風でラインの軌道が弧を描いたりしていると、ロッドアクションが上手く伝わらないからです。
この時もちろん、途中で枝などに引っ掛かってラインが浮いたりしていてはいけません。

I think the biggest key is “line-mending”, that means you should drop your line straight from the rod tip to the lure.
If the line is swept by crosswinds and form arcs, the action won’t be transmitted directly.
And of course, the line shouldn’t get entangled in the cover on the way.

おすすめフロッグ第2弾は、日本が誇るフロッグメーカーの雄・テッケルの"ワッカー"。こちらもスリザーク同様ペンシルタイプですが、少しだけ頭を上げた斜め浮きが特徴。移動距離を抑えて首を振らせやすい、「点」でネチネチと誘うタイプだと思います。...

次にティップを下げて手元までラインを水面に付け、ロッドとラインの角度を90°に保ちます。
そして瞬発的にアクションを加え、すぐに「抜く」＝しっかりとラインスラックを出すのが最大のコツ。
つまりラインに掛かるテンションを、0→100→0とメリハリをつけてコントロールするのが鍵です。
これはペンシルでも同様ですので、ぜひ練習を積んでみて下さい！

And the most important trick is to apply the action immediately and pull it out immediately to make the slack line.
