いよいよ来週、”世界アマチュア最強決定戦”NATIONチャンピオンシップが始まります。
全米各州と、世界10か国から予選を勝ち抜いた猛者たちがラ・クロスに集結。
エリート昇格とクラシック出場を賭け、4日間の激しい戦いの幕が切って落とされます。

Next week, the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship—The World Championship of Amateur Angling—is finally set to begin.
Competitors who qualified from every U.S. state and international nations will gather in La Crosse.
They will compete in a four-day event for the Elite and the Classic.

パラニュークやポール・ミュラー、パット・シュラッパーと言ったスター達も、かつてここからエリートへと駆け上がった”夢への登竜門”。
たった一つのエリート昇格権と、3位以内のクラシック出場権を目指して、全500人の選手がしのぎを削るアメリカでも最大規模のトーナメントです。

The Nation Championship is ‘The Gateway to the Dream,’ a stage that launched stars like Brandon Palaniuk, Paul Mueller, and Pat Schlapper into the Elite.
With only one coveted spot for Elite and three spots for the Classic up for grabs, about 500 anglers will compete in one of the largest tournaments in America.

そしてこの一戦に、去年の州予選を突破した私もテネシー代表として出場します。
思えば日本代表としてこの舞台に立つために、バスオブジャパンに参加したのが2019年。
しかしコロナで道を断たれ、アメリカに移住してようやくここまで辿り着きました。

After qualifying through the Tennessee Nation, I’m ready to fish the Championship!
Long story short, my dream began in Japan in 2019, but was derailed by the pandemic.
Now, after moving to the U.S. and a long road of struggle, I’m finally here.
