大型スモールを選んで釣るには
セントローレンスDay2,キッカー取りの切り札にしていたのがフットボール。 ニシネ・フィネスフットボール3/4ozに、巧漬けしたドライブビーバー3.5inを組み合わせて使いました。 フラットワームのドロップショットが王道＆よく釣れるのですが、ノンキーから5パウンダーまでまるでサイズが選べない・・・。 そこでリミットを揃えてからは、フットボールに切り替えて2本の4lbクラスをキャッチ。 これは野尻湖とかでもそうだったのですが、やはりジグはビッグ・スモールを選べる釣りだと思います。 ポイントは「重い方が喰う」事があることで、最低でも1/2oz、今回は3/4ozを使用。 ゴビーがボトムを跳ねるイメージで、「鋭く・短く」ボトムバンプさせて使いました。 ぜひ皆さんも日本でも試してみて下さい！ （ちなみに日本ではナカタジグを愛用しましたが、こちらの方がフックが丈夫で大型には向いていると思いました） On Day 2 at St. Lawrence River , I used a football jig as a key bait for catching the bigger ones. I used a 3/4 oz Nishine Finesse Football Jig with a Dolive Beaver 3.5″ soaked to Taku-juice. A dropshot with flat worm worked well, but I couldn’t pick a size as if from non-keepers to 5-pounders…. So after catching 5, I switched to a football jig and caught two-4pounders. I think we can choose bigger ones by using this kind of jigs for smallmouth bass. I think the key is that sometimes the heavier weight is the better. So I use at least 1/2 oz, and this time 3/4 oz. And I used with a “sharp and short” bottom bump, as if the gobies were bouncing on the bottom.
