近年急速にシェアを増やしている、ワームのエラストマー素材。
私もミドスト用のメインベイトは、サカマタからZ-TOO(ストライクキング)に変わりました。
浮くとか丈夫とか色々ありますが、その最大のメリットは・・・”柔らかさ”。

Elastomer soft baits are rapidly gaining popularity.
Recently, my main mid-strolling bait switched from Sakamata to Z-TOO.
While they float and are super durable, I think their biggest advantage is the “softness.”

昔サカマタ・ミドストが流行った頃、私はZOOMのフルークをよく使っていました。
しかし同船した友人に、サカマタでボコボコに釣り負けたことがあり・・・。
ソフトな素材の出すしなやかな動き？が、釣果に繋がるのだろうかと話し合ったものです。

When Sakamata mid-strolling first got huge, I used to use Fluke.
But one day, my boat partner totally outfished me using a Sakamata.
We talked about how that supple, natural action from the softer material must be making all the difference.

それでエラストマー素材が出てから試してみたのですが、実感としてサカマタと遜色なく釣れる。
ミドストならあまり関係なさそうにも思うのですが、バスには違いが感じられるようです。
ともかくワームの形状うんぬんよりも、素材の柔らかさが重要になる事はあると感じています。

So I tried elastomer baits, and they catch just as many fish as Sakamata.
You’d think it wouldn’t matter much for mid-strolling, but bass can clearly tell.
Sometimes, the softness of the material is way more important than the actual shape of the worm.
