オールテレーンタイヤの短所

ショルダー部分のパンクは修理不能…ということで、あえなく新品交換に。
色々迷いましたが、普通のオンロード用タイヤに戻すことにしました。
これまで使っていたオールテライン(軽いオフロードもイケる)は、確かにカッコイイのですが高価でして…。
4本新調は痛いのですが、一本単価が下がるのと(純正サイズなので)入手が容易なのが決め手でした。
ちなみにディスカウントタイヤで一本$130の格安タイヤで、もう消耗品と割り切って頻繁に交換する作戦です。
そして実際替えてみると、ロードノイズが圧倒的に少ない！
燃費も5%強は改善した感覚で、舗装路を走るならやはりコチラが合理的な選択だと再認識しました。
SUV/トラック用タイヤを選ぶ際の参考にして頂ければ幸いです。

The puncture in the shoulder area was beyond repair…so I had no choice but to replace it with a new one.
After much deliberation, I decided to go back to regular on-road tires.
The All Terrain tires we I had been using (which are also good for light off-road use) are certainly cool, but they are expensive….
It would be a pain to buy 4 new tires, but the lower cost per tire (since they are stock size) and easy availability were the deciding factors for me.
I decided to replace the tires frequently, as they were already consumable items.
And when I changed the tires, I noticed that the road noise was much less!
Fuel economy was also improved by more than 5%, and I realized again that these tires are a reasonable choice for driving on paved roads.
