スモール大型化の原因”ゴビー”

実は五大湖のスモールも、昔はそこまで大きくなかったらしいのですが…。 2000年頃から巨大化し始めた原因は、爆発的に増えた“ゴビー(ハゼ)“を食べまくったからだそうです。 (タンカーのバラスト水に混じって海から入ってきた) バスはベイトに支配されている、というやつですね。 It seems smallies in the Great Lakes weren’t as big as they are now. An explosion of gobies has made them much bigger since around the 2000s. (They were accidentally introduced from the ocean via ship ballast water.) Bass are controlled by their bait!
