予想外の不評を被るライブスコープ2(LVS44)、では高精細版の42HDはどうかと言いますと・・・
44ほどではないですが、こちらもyoutubeでは”買い替える価値がない”等のコメントが続出。
どうしてそんな評価になっているのか、こちらも動画を分析してみたいと思います。

The LiveScope 2 (LVS44) got unexpectedly bad reviews.
But what about the high-def version, the 42HD?
While it seems not as bad as the 44, YouTube comments are still full of people saying, “It’s not worth upgrading.”
Let’s break down why people feel this way by looking at some videos.

1.補足能が低い
42HDは44ほどノイジーではなく、画像の綺麗さを評価する声はあるものの・・・
魚やルアーの映り方が弱く、ターゲットの補足能力が低いという批判が。
確かに下の動画を見る限り、34の方が明るく見えているのは明らかです。

1. Hard to Track Targets
The 42HD is less noisy than the 44, and some people do like how clean the image is…
However, many complain that fish and lures don’t show up hot, making it hard to track them.
Looking at the video below, the 34 is clearly brighter.

2.遠距離どころか中距離でも映りにくい
42HDは24mまでの設計で、遠距離は弱いとアナウンスされているわけですが・・・
34と比べてみると中距離での反射も弱く、すでに18mくらいで明らかに見辛いと言う指摘も。
確かにミドルキャストで小型ルアーを映すのは難しそうに見えます。

2. Hard to See Even at Medium Distance
Garmin announced that the 42HD is designed for up to 80ft, so it’s known to be weak at long range…
But compared to the 34, the returns are weak even at medium distance.
Some point out that it gets hard to see around 60ft.
It looks tough to pick up small lures on a medium cast.

A.分離能が高い
しかし進化を推す声もあって、ボトムやカバーから魚を分けて映す分離能が高いという意見も。
確かにウィードやオダの中に魚がいるかどうか、ルアーを通す前に見えるかどうかはかなり重要。
ここは釣果に直接影響する部分で、特に44と差がつく点になりそうです。

The Good: High Target Separation
On the bright side, some anglers appreciate the improvement in target separation—how well it separates fish from the bottom or cover.
Being able to see if fish are hiding in weeds or brush before making a cast is huge.
This directly impacts catch rates and seems to be a big advantage.

というわけで画像の綺麗さや分離能、死角の少なさを評価する声はあるものの・・・
あまりに近距離特化型で、44と2台併用でないと使いにくいと批判の声は止みません。
34の方が映りが良いという声さえ多く、少なくとも劇的には釣果は上がらないとの見方が主流です。

Conclusion
So, while people appreciate the clean image, better target separation, and fewer blind spots…
The backlash continues because it’s too focused on short range.
Most feel it’s hard to use unless you run it alongside an LVS44.
Many even say the 34 has better returns, and the consensus is that it won’t dramatically improve your catches.

最後に個人的な意見としては、死角と分離能の改善は釣果に寄与する可能性はあると考えています。
また今後の設定の追い込みや、アップデートによる進化も期待できるでしょう。
ただし現時点での評価としては、万能な34を使い続ける方が良いかもしれないと本気で思い始めています。

Personally, I think the improved blind spots and target separation could help catch more fish.
There’s also hope for future software updates and fine-tuning settings.
But right now? I’m honestly starting to think sticking with the all-around 34 might be the best move.
