1.LVS44のノイズが多い
さてまず一番話題になっているのが、LVS44のノイズの多さ。
比較してみるとすぐにわかりますが、全体にボヤけたノイジーな映像に。
“これなら34の方が良い”と、コメント欄が炎上する騒ぎになっているのです。

First, the most talked-about problem is the heavy noise on LVS44.
When you compare it, you can see right away that the screen is blurry and noisy overall.

2.LVS44のゴーストツリーが酷い
しかし44は出力が上がっているので、その分マニュアルで感度を下げれば良いという意見もあるのですが・・・
硬いモノへの乱反射(ゴーストツリー)は特に酷く、ハードボトムに弱い可能性も指摘されています。
(例えばLVS62では、感度を下げると今度は魚やルアーが映りにくくなる)

2.LVS44 has a bad ghost tree effect
Some people say, “LVS44 has higher power, so you just need to lower the sensitivity manually”
However, reflection on hard objects (ghost tree) is very bad, and some people say it isn’t good for hard cover.
(For example, on LVS62, if you lower sensitivity, it becomes hard to see fish and lures.)

3.LVS44は外部ノイズやゴミに弱い
それからエレキのノイズや水中の微細な浮遊物に対し、44が過敏に反応するとも指摘されています。
ブラシレス等にすることである程度対策出来るかもしれませんが、ターンオーバー時や花粉・強い濁りが入った際の映りが懸念されます。

3.LVS44 is weak against external noise and debris
Also, people point out that LVS44 reacts too much to trolling motor noise and small floating things in water.
You might fix it a little by using a brushless motor, but people worry about how it looks during water turnover, pollen, or heavy mud.

4.LVS44はそこまで遠くが映るのか？
また遠距離が得意とされる44ですが、そこまで34と変わらないのでは？という意見も。
確かに上の動画では多少遠くまで映っているようにも見えるのですが、62のように劇的に遠くまで映るという印象は受けません。

LVS44 is supposed to be good at long distance, but some people think it is not so different from 34.
It looks like it shows a little further in the video above, but it does not give a big dramatic difference like LVS62.

5.LVS44はややタイムラグが大きい？
シューティングにおいては画像のレスポンスが重要ですが、44は少し遅れが出るという指摘も。
確かに下記の動画を見ると、ごくわずかながら34より遅延が大きいようにも感じられます。
(しかし投稿者は、結局同じくらいかも？と最後に付け加えています)

5.Does LVS44 have a little display delay?
Image response speed is very important for shooting, but some people say LVS44 has a little lag.
Looking at the video below, it feels like the delay is slightly bigger than 34.

A.LVS44の継ぎ目が滑らかになって死角が減少
次はメリットについても見ていきます。
どの動画でも言われているのが、ビーム間の継ぎ目が少なくなって画像が滑らかになったという点。
死角の存在は魚やルアーを見失わせる主因なので、これは大きな進歩と言えるでしょう。

A. LVS44 has smoother joints and fewer blind spots
Next, let’s look at the good points.
All videos say that the joints between beams are smoother, and the picture becomes seamless.
Blind spots are the main reason to lose fish and lures, so this is a big improvement.

B.LVS44のパースペクティブが優秀
これまではフォワードでの話でしたが、パースペクティブになると評価が一転。
明らかに34より遠くまで映る上、シャローでも高精細でコントラスト良好という意見が多くなります。
角度を細かく調整できる付属マウントも高評価のようです。

B. LVS44 perspective mode is great

感度を抑えた上でカラーゲインを上げ、ハイコントラストなカラーパレットにすると良いと、上記動画では紹介しています。

Also, the default image of LVS44 is noisy and fuzzy, but some people say you can fix it with settings.
The video above shows that it gets better if you turn down sensitivity, turn up color gain, and use a high-contrast color palette.

というわけで、今アメリカで議論になっているLVS44の論点を紹介しました。
自分で現物を見たわけではないので真偽は分かりませんが、1つだけ言えるのは”明らかに進歩した”とまでは言えない、という事。
買う気満々でしたが、今後も慎重に情報を集めようと考え直したところです。

I have not seen the real product myself, so I don’t know the truth, but I can say one thing: it is not a “clearly better” step forward.
I really wanted to buy it, but now I think I will collect more information carefully.
