’23バスプロツアー最終戦、マット・ベッカーが逆転初優勝！
そしてルーキーイヤーでAOYまで獲得するという、まさにシンデレラ・ストーリーを実現して見せました。
KVDの優勝、そしてジェイコブ・ウィーラーの3連覇が期待された最終戦でしたが、ドラマの主人公はそのどちらでもなくルーキーだった・・・。
新旧帝王の活躍と共に、新世代の胎動を感じさせられる印象的なグランド・フィナーレだったと思います。
レギュラー最終戦で最後まで優勝争いを演じたKVDの偉業は、史上最も活躍したバスプロとして後世まで伝説となる事は間違いありませんね。
これでツアーからは引退となるようですが、今後も単発イベントで話題を作って欲しいと願っています。
33年の長きに渡り、本当にお疲れさまでした。。。

Matt Becker turned the tables and took his first win at the ’23 Bass Pro Tour#7!
It was a Cinderella story, with his winning AOY in his rookie year.
The final round of the tour was expected to be KVD’s victory and Jacob Wheeler’s 3 times AOY, but the hero of the drama was not either of them, but the rookie….
It was an impressive grand finale, with the old and the new emperors playing well, and the glory of a new generation.
KVD’s feat of competing for the championship in the final regular tournament will no doubt remain legendary for generations to come as the most successful bass pro of all time.
It appears that he will now retire from the tour, but I hope that he will continue to make a splash at single events.
